The Swim Club, formally South Riding Winter Swim, was founded in 2000, as a year round conditioning and developmental training program. Committed to providing personalized instruction, while increasing endurance and improving stroke mechanics. The Swim Club believes that the life-long benefits of competitive swimming are of great value and that swimmers of all ages can train, compete, maximize their potential, and enjoy the sport. Head Coaches Ginger Moffitt and Kelly Johnson, both living in South Riding at the team's inception, believe that The Swim Club was founded on community values and continues to operate the same way, emphasizing sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The Swim Club is a locally owned and operated swim program for the youth of South Riding and the surrounding Dulles area. Originally designed to be an extension of the summer swim program of the South Riding Stingrays, the program has grown from 20 swimmers four years ago to over 110 swimmers in 2005.
The program was started by two former swimmers and coaches...Coach Kelly Johnson and Coach Ginger Moffitt. Both coaches grew up swimming competitively and enjoy the opportunity to share the sport with the youth of South Riding.
